De
Montfort University (DMU) is a pioneering
and innovative institution. It is one
of Britain's largest universities, with
around 30,000 students based at four
UK centres: Bedford, Leicester, Lincoln
and Milton Keynes. These four centres
and ten campuses retain their own distinctive
characters and specialties.
Modern telecommunications facilities,
including IT networking and video conferencing,
ensure that wherever you choose to work
or study, the resources and support of
the whole university is available to
you.
The university provides a multitude
of courses from Further Education to
PhD level in areas including the sciences,
engineering, computing and design, as
well as health, education, agriculture,
business, law, sport, humanities and
the arts.
Alongside teaching,
research of the highest level is carried
out in De Montfort's six academic faculties
and its additional research centres:
the new multi-million pound Science and
Engineering Research Centre (SERC) and
the Institute of Energy and Sustainable
Development. DMU has special arrangements
for staff and student exchanges and research
collaboration with many institutions
overseas.
They offer programmes in South Africa,
Malaysia, Holland, Germany, France, Sweden
and Hong Kong under strict academic quality
control. DMU is also proud of its strong
links with industry and places great
emphasis on equipping students with the
skills, confidence and creativity that
today's workplace demands. |
De
Montfort
is one of the better universities around,
boasting a huge student body and a very
large campus with all sorts of facilities.
It is well situated in the middle of
the country with easy access to both
the north and the south.
The social life at De
Montfort is very good, with Leicester
being the main campus. It has an extremely
varied night life, and of course there
are the many different clubs and groups
to join up to.
The University itself
is very well equipped with the latest
technology and its teaching staff are
second to none. It has one of the best
design and arts centres in the country
and often wins awards for its achievements.
All in all De Montfort
University is a good choice to make! |

"I had 3 fun filled
years at De Montfort University, some
of the best years I could want for. THe
University itself was very good and the
tutors I had always took time out to
teach you on a one to one basis. Well
worth it." |
